What to consider before you buy a toaster
Purpose
There are two main types of toasters: the popup and the clamp toasters. The popup toasters are used to toast single slices of bread. The browner the bread, the crisper. Also the more the browning, the longer the time the bread stays in the toaster, and the higher the consumption.
The clamp toasters provide more options: while they can be used to toast single slices at a time, they may also be use to toast sandwiches. In both cases, the temperature setting regulates the level of browning of the bread.
Power Consumption
Regardless of the energy rating on the toaster, the thermostat setting determines the consumption of the toaster. The higher the browning, the longer the time the bread stays in the toaster, and the higher the consumption. However the bread toaster uses from 800 to 1500 watts of energy when in use.
Warranty
Always remember to check for warranty. The duration of the warranty determines the confidence the manufacturer has in the product. Therefore the longer the warranty, the more confident the manufacturer is that the product is durable. Never buy an appliance with no warranty! Finally, you should buy from an authorized dealer to ensure that the warranty is valid.
Brands
There are many toaster brands in the market. Always check for the SONCAP and the warranty (as said above). Additionally you can check our blog for reviews and ratings of toaster.
